The car is a 2020 Porsche 992 model with an all aluminum chassis and body with no wield points instead the parts are glued together. There are twin turbo chargers, 21 inch wheels and selected driving modalities, such as, Wet, Sport and Super Sport which modulate both the suspension and motor mounts.
The 992 is a joy to drive, smooth on the road with high performance availability.
Additionally, I drive another Porsche and a wonderful 1994 Jaguar XJS convertible.
Motorsports have been a part of my life since racing British cars while in Middle School. Sports cars have been with me during my training and my 48 year professional career treating mental illness. I just retired from an eight year term as Chairman of the Board of the University Suburban Health Center. A medical center we built and opened in 1973. In the future, I look forward to enjoying sports cars and the people who drive them.

2020 718 GT4
My name is Pop Seniwong, and I must admit that I am a Porsche fanatic. I fell in love with Porsche 911 at the age 13, just like many children, so I continued to pursue my childhood dream of owning Porsche 911. Ownership opportunity did not come until 2001. As you all know that driving and owning Porsche are so addictive that you always want more…
My first Porsche was a 1979 911 SC after lusting over 20 years. How can you not fall in love with the 911 body style, especially the air-cooled ones? My second 911 was the 1999 996 Carrera. Yes, the fried-egg head lights water-cooled 911 that the purists hate. Well, I did not know any better at the time, but I could not resist having another 911. Third one came along was a 2006 Cayman S. Baby-Porsche, many claims when Cayman first introduced, but for me, it was a love at first sight. The most notable distinction of Cayman S was her body styles, the extra high read fenders. A sight to behold when looking directly from the rear. The first track day at the Roebling Road Raceway reinforced the purchase decision. My love of Porsche continued to 2012 racing yellow 911 Carrera, 2014 GT3 and another 2006 Cayman S. I could not get over the love of Caymans.
My Cayman lust grew more when I first heard rumor about the 718 GT4, so I reached out to Porsche Hilton Head in 2018, but it was not until February 2019 that they would allow to put my name on the list. A few days after the launch of the 718 GT4 in July, my demand order went in the PCNA system. Like many Porsche lover, I played with the configurator daily to build this perfect GT4. I went through many options and color selections before settling with the Gentian Blue and Satin Aurum wheel color. The following is a highlight of my selection.
Exterior Color: Gentian Blue Metallic
Interior Color: Leather/Alcantara® Interior in Black with Yellow Stitching
Performance: 6-speed Manual Transmission, Chrono Package with Preparation for Lap Trigger, Brake Calipers in High Gloss Black
Lights and Vision: LED Headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), Light Design Package
Interior: Steering Wheel and Gear Lever in Black Leather, Full Bucket Seats, 2-Zone Automatic Climate Control, Smoking Package, Luggage Net in Passenger Footwell, Fire Extinguisher, Seat Belts in Racing Yellow Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Stitching in Deviated Color
Interior Carbon Fiber: Interior Trim in Carbon Fiber i.c.w. Leather Interior
My 718 GT4 supposes to arrive by the end of May; however, the completion scheduled was pushed to the right during the factory shutdown due to CORONAVIRUS pandemic. The 718 GT4 should arrive US port by the end of July. The wait continues…..
Pictures are of similar spec GT4. Expecting to take delivery real soon!

What can you tell us about your car? My Porsche is a 1997 911 993 Carrera 2 Coupe, the last of the air-cooled It’s exterior paint color is Forest Green Metallic (53) complemented by a cashmere beige partial leather interior, a G50 six- speed manual transmission, a power/heated seat package, a AM/FM radio with CD player, and retractable sunroof.
How do you feel when you drive it? Frankly, I love nothing more than to take my Porsche for a “run” on the outback, rural roads of South Carolina. Moving through my six- speed transmission, one feels in complete control of the 270 hp. engine behind you. It’s exhilarating !
Do you have any other cars in your collection? Growing up as the son of a General Motors Executive, I had the good fortune to own or use all of GM’s “muscle car” models as they evolved. As a result I also own a 1972 Oldsmobile 442 coupe, the last of the A bodies, powered by a 350 hp V8 “Rocket” engine.
What can you tell us about you? Personally, I’m a retired Financial Services Executive, having been associated with Ernst & Young LLP and Morgan Guaranty Trust Company (JPMorgan), who has relocated from New York City’s Metropolitan area to South Carolina’s Low Country. I served in the US Army (Armor Branch) during the Vietnam war, rising to the rank of Captain.

What can you tell us about your car? I bought this 1983 911SC from our great local Porsche chapter past President, David Grandt back in Jan 2017. It was modified by Bob Woodman in Beaufort SC for track use. No expense was spared by David on this fine 911. I was just fortunate enough to have David sell it to me and it’s been a delight driving it to DE’s and around HHI.
How do you feel when you drive it? I feel I’m one with this car. No power brakes, no power steering, no A/C or a blower for that matter and heel and toe shifting. It’s old school driving. I’ve had a 987 and a 981 Cayman, both were nice to drive but this 911 will test your abilities as a driver on the track and sometimes on the open road…when the police aren’t around.
Do you have any other cars in your collection? 2012 Jetta SportWagen…I can’t brag like some of our other members.
What can you tell us about you? I’m just your regular Joe. Always loved Porsches from the first time I set my eyes on a 911 when I was a kid. Being from Canada, you didn’t see too many 911’s growing up. I was absolutely fascinated with the sound of that flat six.

What can you tell us about your car? This is my first Porsche, after having waited many years for the “right time.” I was searching for a Boxster S when my wife Joanne found this one online, right at the end of the 2010 model year. It was spec’ed out by the lead salesman at the famous Holbert Porsche in Warrington, PA, and was on the showroom floor for most of the year. After a quick test drive, I bought it on the spot, even though it was a base model as it’s plenty quick enough. The Guards Red paint with a saddle interior were always my first choice. Not sure I would have thought to order the custom painted roll bars, or the matching seat belts and Sport Chrono dial, but it really makes a nice coordinated presentation! I must confess, it’s a bit of a garage queen, with less than 12,000 miles, but it’s in absolute showroom condition, and 100 percent original! I can count the times its been out in the rain, and while we lived in the Northeast, it was stored in a heated garage all winter. I think I’ll keep it for a while…
How do you feel when you drive it? As an engineer, I have an appreciation for all things mechanical, and the sound of the flat six coming up the power curve is intoxicating. I love the short, quick throw of the manual gearbox, and the feeling of a precise downshift as it accelerates into a corner. The best stress-reducer ever!
Do you have any other cars in your collection? Only this Porsche, but we also have a Tesla which is a great companion to the Boxster. One very mechanical, the other remarkably high tech…it makes for an interesting variety!
What can you tell us about you? I’m a semi-retired environmental engineer, originally from New York City, but since 2012 living full time on Hilton Head Island. I spent nearly my entire career representing industry in the investigation and clean-up of some of the largest hazardous waste (“Superfund”) sites in the country. I’m now well into my second career as a jazz musician, with a regular gig here in Hilton Head, playing acoustic bass with my Trio.

What can you tell us about your car? 2014 50th Anniversary model 911; #1429 of 1963 vehicles produced; black with black leather interior; purchased at Brumos Porsche Jacksonville
How do you feel when you drive it? It’s a special feeling driving this vehicle knowing it’s one of only a few produced and it celebrates 50 years of the iconic Porsche model. Also, it makes me feel young again—you know—50!
Do you have any other cars in your collection? 2020 Cayenne S Coupe, 2019 Targa 4S, 2017 Panamera
What can you tell us about you? Recently retired after selling our business of 35 years—provided support services to steamship lines and ocean freight leasing companies. I’ve always been a car guy—in the late 60’s owning muscle cars, GTO’s and Corvettes. But in 2004, we purchased our first Porsche Boxster and haven’t looked back!

What can you tell us about your car?
Well the car is a 2008 997 Turbo Cabriolet. Jill and I purchased the car from Hilton Head Porsche in March of 2017. We are the second owner and the car had only 17,000 miles when purchased. Jill instigated the idea as after I purchased a 55 Chevy. When we first met I had a Boxster S and she said “I wish you wanted another Porsche”. We were out to dinner in Atlanta a few weeks earlier and saw a 997 Turbo and she loved the looks of the car. So she went and found this one, surprisingly local with so few miles.
How do you feel when you drive it?
It is a thrill to drive. Absolutely one of the most exhilarating experiences in my life was to track Daytona driving 140 MPH in the banking with your stomach in your chest and topping out at 165 MPH. Fastest I have ever driven. I love the smile on Jill’s face when she gets into the throttle as well. She was ear to ear grins doing a parade lap at Hutchinson Island during the Savannah classic. We get a lot of joy from the car.
Do you have any other cars in your collection?
No longer besides our daily driver an Audi S5 cabriolet and Ford pickup. I sold off the other two collectables, a 55 Chevy Belair and a 66 Chevy II Pro Street that was just a beast. One afternoon this guy drove by the house in a ’66 356 when I had the 3 cars in the yard, stopped, introduced himself and invited me to come out to Roebling. After doing my 1st PCA DE at Roebling Jill saw how excited I was and the pleasure the experience was for me and said I need to make tracking the car my hobby. Prompted me to sell the two chevy’s and focus on the Porsche. Hopefully I can obtain a dedicated track car like a Cayman as a 2nd Porsche in the not too distant future. That would be my goal.
What can you tell us about you?
I am originally from Connecticut and have been hooked on cars from an early age reading all the car magazines and watching racing. Always liked to look at the list of fastest cars in Road & Track! I have owned a few Porsches and muscle cars over the years. I have been in the Cable Television industry my entire life. Traveled a great deal and ended up in Atlanta which led me to purchasing vacation property in Hilton Head. My goal was to eventually move to Hilton Head which I did full time in 2013 by quitting my corporate job in Silicon Valley. I took about a year sabbatical until I was lured back but winding down the career as much as possible. Hooked on racing, oops high performance driver education!

Jay Johnson
1987 944 Turbo -I am the original owner and the car has been driven 55,550 miles.
My wife, my daughter, and I moved from Pennsylvania to Hilton Head Island in 2017. We are retired from operating Hallmark Card & Gift shops.
I continue to enjoy the drivability of my Porsche, in particularly, the acceleration and turbo boost.

Mark Elvin
What can you tell us about your car? Purchased the car in March 2016 from Porsche of the Mainline in Pennsylvania. It is a 2016 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS with manual transmission.
How do you feel when you drive it? The car never disappoints me every time I drive it. The driving experience is exceptional including the handling, performance and the sound of the engine.
Do you have any other cars in your collection? I have a 1965 Corvette “Fuelie” Coupe, 1981 Mercedes 280SL, 2018 Porsche Boxster S, 2019 Range Rover Sport, and 2018 Jeep Wrangler (the beach car).
What can you tell us about you? My wife and I are both members of executive teams with national and international companies. We have one son who resides in Connecticut. We spend time between our homes located outside of the city of Philadelphia, the mountains of upstate Pennsylvania and the beaches of Hilton Head Island.

Pete Archibald
What can you tell us about your car? This car is an early example of the 993, the last generation of the air-cooled 911. I purchased if from Truitt Rabun a few years ago. He had done a great job of keeping it in like-new condition.
How do you feel when you drive it? Having previously owned a 1976 911 (and currently owning a 1966 911), it always amazes me that Porsche was able to keep the “feel” of the 911 the same for so many years. Great car to drive, always very engaging.
Do you have any other cars in your collection? The rest of the collection consists of the ‘66 911, a 1956 Speedster and a 1964 356 C cabriolet.
What can you tell us about you? I enjoy working on the cars, doing most of the mechanical and electrical work myself. I’ve worked on full restorations of three of our Porsches, including a 1951 356 coupe.

Paul Jones
I recently had the pleasure of a conversation with Paul Jones, one of the founding members of CERPCA fifteen years ago!
During our conversation, Paul tells me he has owned seven Porsches and has been a member of PCA for over 30 years. One of the things he likes best is making lasting friendships with other PCA’ers from around the country. He cites his only dislike as change coming slowly due to the size of the club and its’ occasional bureaucratic nature. He has attended sixteen Porsche Parades with his first being Traverse City, Michigan in 1989. His favorite memory:
“Picking cherries off the trees on the golf course during the tournament and enjoying freshly baked pies up the road. Also learning the hard way that the judges do judge the inside of the front storage compartment during the Concours. Obviously, we did NOT trophy!” He doesn’t remember seeing any other CERPCA members at recent parades.
Paul would like to start regional competitions in concours, rally and autocross – something the club has not done. He says “CERPCA was formed out of the desire to put on DE events at Roebling when the upstate group would not support us in that endeavor under their region” (Ed note: The full story of the founding of CERPCA is elsewhere in this website)
Paul added “We have retired from PCA this year because of too many conflicting activities and too little time. Balancing all the available opportunities as a retiree is a tough job. I recently became certified by AARP and the SCDMV to instruct their Smart Driver courses. This will put my years of instructing at DE events in PCA and BMWCCA to good use.
It will, indeed, sir. Thank you for taking the time to “chat” with us.paul-jones

My car (1962B, T-6 Cabriolet)is not technically a “barn find”; more like a “graveyard find”, since it was discovered , along with five others, abandoned bordering a lake in Belgium.I purchased it while living in Brussels in 1985, immediately after a complete three year restoration. I drove it in the Liege-Rome Liege(in 1952, this was the first race ever won by a Porsche) Vintage Car Rally in 1991 and 1999, while I was still living in Brussels.
I have driven the car almost 60,000 miles, so now driving it seems pretty normal. In 1985, I would not drive it in the rain. During the rallies, driving was incredibly exhilarating.
I currently drive around 3-4 thousand miles a year and split it between the 356 and a 1998 triple-black Boxster(in the months requiring air conditioning).
After a 35 year work career(29 years outside the United States, with the last 15 years working for Levi Strauss & Co. in Brussels), we moved to Savannah in 2000. We have a daughter born in Madrid and a son born in Barcelona.
